About MAS-E
Berkeley Engineering, long synonymous with innovation and excellence, is offering a new Master of Advanced Study in Engineering (MAS-E), making a top-tier education more accessible to a wider audience, including busy working professionals who want to move ahead in their careers by gaining state-of-the-art knowledge and analytical skills in their fields.
Students will learn from faculty who are leaders in their fields, accessing recorded lectures when convenient and talking with professors during live, online office hours. Hands-on projects provide opportunities to interact with peers. Coursework is personalized based on the student’s background and interests, whether these reside in traditional, departmental-based engineering fields or inter- and trans-disciplinary expertise well-suited for a global work landscape.
Students in this self-paced program have up to four years to complete the 24-unit degree, but they can finish in nine months if enrolled full-time. Tuition for the program, developed and offered in partnership with the online platform Coursera, is $1,750 per unit for a total of $42,000 for 24 units, plus fees.* Students pay tuition per course, plus campus fees each semester.
Applications opened Sept. 13, 2023, for enrollment during the 2024-25 academic year.
*Tuition and fees are pending approval and subject to change. For additional information, please visit the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office Cost of Attendance website.
